「dictionary – ary = Diction」Diction という言葉は、「言い回し」「口調」「言葉遣い」という意味であったり、 声楽では「発音法」「発声法」の意味でも使われるます。つまり言葉を相手に“わかりやすく”明確に伝える 表現方法の事です。これらがまとまって16世紀に《Dictionary>という言葉になりました。連載の2ペー ジでどうしたら僕の絵画をわかりやすく明確に伝えられるだろうかと考えて、シンプル且つインパクトにレイアウトして、Subtract Diction というシリーズを描き下ろしでやってみようと考えました。

The word Diction means “phrasing,” “tone,’ and ‘wording,’ and in vocal music, it also means”pronunci ation” and “vocalization.” In other words, it is a way of expressing words that are ‘clear’ and clearly communicated to the other party. In the 16th century together they became the word “Dictionary.” I wondered how I could clearly convey my paintings on the two pages of the series, so I laid out a simple and impactful layout and decided to draw a series called “Subtract Diction”.
