Coco Capitán ココ・カピタン

1992年、スペイン セビリア生まれ。ロンドンとマヨルカ島を行き来しながら制作活動を行う。2016年
ロンドンのロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートの写真分野の修士課程を修了。カピタンの制作活動は写真、絵画、インスタレーション、散文など多岐に渡り、ファインアートとコマーシャルアートの領域にまたがっている。近年の個展に 「Naivy in 50 [definitive] Photographs」 (パルコ・ギャラリー 東京 2022)、「Naivy」(マキシミリアン・ウィリアム・ギャラリーロンドン 2021)、 「Busy Living」 (ヨーロッパ写真館 パリ 2020)、 Is It Tomorrow Yet? (デリム美術館 ソウル 2019) がある。
近年の主なグループ展に「Infinite Identities」 (Huis Marseille、 Museum for Photography、 Amsterdam、2020年)がある。彼女の作品は、 Maison Européene de la Photography (パリ)とHuis Marseille、 Museum for Photography (アムステルダム)のコレクションに所蔵されている。『Naivy』『If You’ve Seen It All Close Your Eyes』 『Middle Point Between my House and China』など数冊の本を出版している。彼女の作品は、 New York Times Magazine、British Journal of Photography、 Dazed、 M Le Monde、Document Journal、Vogue などの出版物に掲載されている。また、 ケンブリッジ 大学、 ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アート、 オックスフォード大学、マンチェスター芸術大学、 ロンドン・サウスパンク大学、 アールト大学などでゲストスピーカーを務めている。

Coco Capitán (b. 1992, Seville, Spain) lives and works between London and Mallorca. She completed her Master of Fine Arts with Honours in the field of Photography at the Royal College of Art, London, in 2016. Her art practice straddles the fine art and commercial art worlds, and includes photography, painting, installation and prose. Recent solo shows include Naïvy in 50 [definitive] Photographs at Parco Gallery (Tokyo, 2022), Naïvy at Maximillian William Gallery (London, 2021), Busy Living at the Maison Européene de la Photography (Paris, 2020), and Is It Tomorrow Yet? at Daelim Museum (Seoul, 2019). She was recently included in the group exhibition Infinite Identities, Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography, Amsterdam (2020). Her work is held in the collections of the Maison Européene de la Photography, Paris and Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography, Amsterdam. She has published several books, among them Naïvy, If You’ve Seen It All Close Your Eyes and Middle Point Between my House and China. Her work has appeared in publications such as the New York Times Magazine, the British Journal of Photography, Dazed, M Le Monde, Document Journal, and Vogue. She has been a guest speaker for Cambridge University, Royal College of Art, Oxford University, Manchester School of Art, London Southbank University and Aalto University, among others.
