イラストレーター、漫画家、エッセイスト、時々役者的活動。 1974年生まれ。絵と音楽と自然に囲まれ暮らす。大学では映画学を学び、卒業後、イラストレーターに.2002年、「新しい単位」がベストセラーに。その後、ユニーク でレトロな味わいのある唯一無二なイラストで、さまざまな媒体で活動。年に千枚のイラストを世に送り、イラストスプラッターの異名を持つ。海外にファンも多く、2 018年には、台湾で「五月女桂子的逆襲展」を開催する。一方、舞台「男子はだまってなさいよ!」「シティボーイズライブ」や映画「インスタント沼」に出演。2010年 に娘を出産、現在は、娘ととメダカを育てながら、合間に絵を描く日々。
