Katsuhiko Brian Sato

1968年宮城県仙台市生まれ。 独学で25歳から筆を取り、瞬く間に国内外で人気を得る。 元東京リズムキングスのドラマー。 2001年、様々な雑誌に作品が掲載された後、仙台に拠点を移す。 東日本大震災後は、社会政治的なテーマに焦点を当てた作品や立体的なアートにも力を入れ ており、最も注目すべき作品はジェーン・バーキン本人に認められサインされたブルーシート のバーキンがある。 近年は日本のアートフェアをはじめ、オランダ、スイス、アメリカなどで作品を発表している。

Bom in Sendai in 1968. Self-taught, he picked up a brush at 25 and quickly gained popularity both in Japan and abroad. In 2001, after a long stretch in Tokyo playing drums for the Tokyo Rhythm Kings and getting his work published in a variety of magazines, he relocated back home to Sendai. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, he focused more on addressing socio-political themes in his work and also branched out to three-dimensional art. The most notable work is an authrized and signed tarpaulin handbag by Jane Birkin. He has presented his art works at the art fair in Japan and other countries such as Netherlands, Switzerland and U.S.A. in recent years.
